Data Discrepancies

For data discrepancy troubleshooting

Common Issue #1: Project or Phase Fee Discrepancy

Project or Phase Fees synced from Integrations follow a default field mapping. Some Integrations offer alternative field mappings for Project or Phase Fees.

For more details on both default and alternative field mappings for Project or Phase Fees, please refer to the respective Integration's Integrated Data Types pages.

Common Issue #2: Spent Time Discrepancy

Spent time on Mosaic is calculated based on the total of spent dollars from all time entries, whether synced from the integration or created directly in Mosaic.

For missing time entries, please check the troubleshooting time entries section.

Common Issue #3: Work Plan Discrepancy

Possible Reasons for Work Plan Sync Issues or Hour Discrepancies
If you're seeing discrepancies in Work Plan data or missing plans after syncing, it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:

  1. Employee Not Linked: The associated employee isn't linked in Mosaic.
  2. Sync Not Triggered: The sync feature hasn't been triggered yet to initiate the integration.
In-Transit Data: Some Work Plans may still be in transit between Vantagepoint and Mosaic from the last triggered sync.
  3. Partial Deletes or Updates: Some records are being deleted while others are created or updated, which may cause temporary mismatches.
  4. Unlinked Phase or Sub-Phase: The Phase or Sub-Phase associated with the Work Plan isn't yet linked in the system.
  5. Unlinked Work Category: The Work Category used in the Work Plan isn't linked in Mosaic.
  6. Created or Updated in Mosaic: Work Plans created or updated directly in Mosaic may not match Vantagepoint data unless resynced.
  7. Timing Conflict During Delete & Reimport: If a Work Plan was deleted and a reimport was triggered, any new plan created in Mosaic during this process may persist despite the deletion.
  8. Deleted Mosaic Entries Won’t Be Recreated: Work Plans or Time Entries deleted in Mosaic will not be recreated by the integration.
  9. Outside Sync Conditions: The Work Plan doesn't meet the configured conditions for import mentioned above (e.g., date ranges, filters).
  10. Invalid Dates or Zero Capacity: Work Plans with invalid dates due to project dependencies or assigned members with zero capacity will be excluded from import.
  11. Archived Entities Affecting Data: Work Plans associated with archived Projects, Phases, Work Categories, or
  12. Members may show fewer or zero hours if the plans span past the archive date.
  13. Plans Set to Zero or Deleted in Mosaic: If a plan was updated to 0 hours or deleted directly in Mosaic, this change will persist unless overwritten via sync.
  14. Work Plans Manually Deleted: If a work plan is manually deleted it will not reimport unless a full delete and reimport is triggered.
