Ajera Visual Settings Guide
Below is a visual guide to all of the settings in Mosaic that will determine how and where we bring your data from Ajera into Mosaic. What you choose in these settings should match your SOP that you discuss with your CSM as these settings should bring in the data to match your expected workflows.
1. Connection
Definition:
- This is where you can update your credentials so Mosaic can bring in your data
To get started:
- If you are using ODBC, please ensure that your team has purchased ODBC from Deltek first as it is separate from Ajera Cloud
- Please make sure to read through the requirements in this document
- Full set up instructions are here
- Troubleshooting guide if needed
- Below is the Ajera Administrator’s Guide
DeltekAjera9SaaSAdministratorGuide.pdf
In Mosaic:
- You may need to periodically update your credentials, this is where to do it
2. Standard Roles
Definition
- This setting is to allow roles to come into Mosaic
Settings choices:
- Transfer: this means we will bring your roles into Mosaic
- Do not transfer: selecting this means you will need to manually add roles into Mosaic
3. Default Roles
Definition
- This setting is responsible for associating a member with the role.
Settings choices:
- Transfer: this means we will bring your roles and associate them to the correct member into Mosaic
- One time at first link: this means we’ll associate the member with that role only when the member is linked and if their roles change in Ajera, they will need to be manually updated in Mosaic
- Do not transfer: selecting this means you will need to manually add roles into Mosaic
4. Portfolios
Definition:
- A Portfolio in Mosaic is a folder used to organize multiple projects, helping teams categorize and manage tasks more efficiently.
Settings choices:
- Import is the default portfolio to which linked projects are sent, but you can select other portfolios as well. All projects will initially be imported into the default portfolio until manually moved by users.
In Mosaic:
- Portfolios can be used to group projects by department, client, project manager, or type of work
- ⚠️ NOTES: This setting is for the default portfolio, so if you want your projects in other portfolios, you will need to create the portfolios, select your default portfolio, then move projects from import portfolio into the correct portfolios manually
- If you are looking for portfolios to ‘auto-route’, this may be a customization that you’d need to discuss with our Solutions team
- This places projects into portfolios that are new, it doesn’t retroactively place previously imported projects
5. Projects - Linking Method
Definitions:
- A Project is a grouping of work to be completed. Projects can be associated with members, time periods, clients, and work plans. They’re designed to help you organize and manage everything related to a specific effort or client.
- Importing: When you import a project (whether manually or automatically) we are bringing a project from Ajera into Mosaic
- Linking: Linking a project means connecting it to a project in Mosaic, so the project is first imported, then linked so data can continue flow from Ajera into Mosaic
Settings choices:
- Manually linked: Select this if you only want to plan and manage specific projects in Mosaic. If you select this, you’ll need to individually select any project you want to to import and link into Mosaic.
- Automatically linked: Select this if you want all of your projects that exist in Ajera to be brought over to Mosaic for planning. This essentially auto-imports and links any projects in Ajera into Mosaic so we can sync that data into Mosaic.
In Mosaic:
- When importing projects, we also import this data associated with projects from Ajera:
- if the project is billable or not
- project status
- project start & end date
- client
- Project fee (and consult fee if you choose)
- Archived status
- Project number
- Project title
6. Project and Phase Titles
Definition:
- This setting asks for the source of truth for your project and phase titles, either we sync the project and phase titles from Ajera and overwrite any title changes made on Mosaic, or we choose not to overwrite any title changes made in Mosaic
Settings choices:
- Overwrite - Select this to keep all project and phase titles for your projects in Mosaic the same as those in Ajera
- Do not overwrite - Select this if you plan on changing project and phase titles on Mosaic (we will still import the titles once) but they won’t match what’s in Ajera if you edit them on Mosaic
In Mosaic:
- Please ensure that if you choose Overwrite, nobody on your team who is using Mosaic will be changing titles on Mosaic as they will be overwritten in the next sync by what’s in Ajera
7. Project and Phase Billable
Definition
- Project billable status: Indicates whether the project is charged to the client
- Phase billable status: Determines if a phase is billed
Settings choices:
- Transfer: This option only sends billable statuses when you link the project, but does not sync any changes to the billable status if they are made in Ajera
- One time at first link: this only transfers billable status once, so if it’s changed in Ajera it won’t reflect after it’s linked into Mosaic
- Do not transfer: if chosen, this means no billable statuses will come from Ajera, and you choose Mosaic as the source of truth for what is billable or not
In Mosaic:
- Project billable status: In exports, it appears as “Project Billable” (Yes/No) and this status is editable in the Project Info modal [Project Billable > Project Info Modal]
- Phase billable status: You can see in the Organization settings > Integrations > Projects > linked projects > click to see your phases which phases are billable
8. Project and Phase Dates
Definition
- Projects: High-level containers of work whose start and end dates are inferred from the phase dates
- Phases/Subphases: Stages within a project with their own date ranges. The dates can depend on other phases or milestones
Settings choices:
- Transfer: this allows for any changes for project and phase dates in Ajera to reflect in Mosaic any time a change is made
- One time at first link: this means that dates will only be sent when linking the project, and any changes in Ajera will not update into Mosaic
- Do not transfer - this setting includes both project and phase dates - select this to manually set and update project and phase dates in Mosaic - if selected, the values present in Mosaic may not match what’s in Ajera as we will not be syncing these values from Ajera
In Mosaic:
- Project and phase dates define timelines and can also be configured from within in your projects
- Please ensure that if you choose Transfer that nobody on your team will be changing dates on Mosaic, because they were be overwritten by what’s in Ajera on the next sync
9. Project and Phase Fee
Definition
- Project Fee: The total amount you plan to bill for the entire project. You can review it in the project’s Budget tab to confirm fees are coming in from your integration and see the project total
- Phase Fee: The fee allocated to a specific Phase (or Subphase)
Settings choices:
- Transfer: this means we will sync over your fees and any changes will also be updated in Mosaic
- if you select this and make changes in Mosaic for your fees, they will be overwritten upon next sync
- One time at first link: this sends your fees from Ajera to Mosaic only on initial link, which is recommended if the fees change in Ajera but you don’t want those changes reflected in Mosaic after first import
- Do not transfer - select this option if you want to use Mosaic as the source of truth and you don’t expect fees to come over from Ajera at all
In Mosaic:
- Project fee is shown in light gray in the Budget column of the Project > Budget > Edit Budget view and can be adjusted using Budget
- Phase fee shows per-phase in the Budget > Billing tab, where you can edit it directly via the Phase Info modal and plan billing schedules per phase
10. Project and Phase Rate Types
Definition
This setting allows Mosaic to bring in rates for time entries and budgeting:
- Employee-based (member): Use the specific employee's rate
- Role-based: Use rates assigned to the employee's role on the project
- Activity-based: Use rates assigned to the work category/activity being performed
Settings choices:
- Transfer: Will continually sync project and phase billing type from Ajera into Mosaic and reflect any changes in Ajera
- One time at first link: Will only send the project and phase billing type on initial project link
- Do not transfer: select if you only want to maintain rates in Mosaic
11. Project and Phase rate group
Definition:
This setting transfers the association between the rate table and specific projects.
Settings choices:
- Transfer: Will continually sync project associations from Ajera into Mosaic and reflect any changes in Ajera
- One time at first link: Will only send the associations on initial project link
- Do not transfer: select if you only want to maintain associations in Mosaic manually
In Mosaic:
- If setting is checked to ‘transfer’ for role rate associations, this means that projects using role rates will override the standard setting even if the standard is not Role rates. Each project has an associated rate table in Ajera - if there is a role rate table associated with that project, clicking ‘transfer’ on #11 for project and phase rate group will allow for the association to be overridden
- This means that if project rates are set to ‘member rates’ as a default, if setting #11 is set to ‘transfer’, the rates on this project will reflect the role rates if the rate table associated with this project comes from a role rate table in Ajera.
- Below is the association that is made through this setting
- Keep in mind that we only bring in role rates from Ajera, but you will need this set to ‘Transfer’ or ‘One time at first link’ to bring in the role rates
12. Bill Rate Source for Member Rates
Definition
- The "Project bill rate source" setting determines which rates are used when calculating bill rates on a project in Mosaic.
- When project/phase planning, you can select from Role, Work Category, or Member rates depending on your billing method
- For this setting, if you choose to use member rates (employee billing type), you’re selecting whether you want to pull cost rates or bill rates for each member
Settings choices:
- Use Cost Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use member rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing your organization’s cost per person per hour, including wages, benefits, and overhead
- Use Bill Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use member rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing what you charge the client per hour for a member’s time
In Mosaic:
- This section does not come from Ajera - it comes from the rates you’ve set in Member Rates
- Member default Bill Rates are managed and set in Organizational Settings > Members > Rate, and are applied when creating workloads for projects using Member Rates
- these defaults do not vary by project unless you override them on the project/phase
- If you choose for a project to have member billing, we’ll use each member’s default rates for budgeting
- With Member Rates selected, you must choose a Role Rate Group for unassigned/open roles
13. Bill rate source for role rates
Definition
- The "Project bill rate source" setting determines which rates are used when calculating bill rates on a project in Mosaic.
- When project/phase planning, you can select from Role, Work Category, or Member rates depending on your billing method
- For this setting, only bill rates are available for role rates
Settings choices:
- Use Bill Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use role rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing what you charge the client per hour for a member’s time by role
In Mosaic:
- Role Rates can be managed and set in Budgets > Rates > Role, and are applied when creating workloads for projects using role rates
14. Bill Rate Source for Work Category Rates
Definition
- The "Project bill rate source" setting determines which rates are used when calculating bill rates on a project in Mosaic.
- When project/phase planning, you can select from Role, Work Category, or Member rates depending on your billing method
- For this setting, if you choose to use work category rates, you’re selecting whether you want to pull cost rates or bill rates to be used for work category rates
Settings choices:
- Use Cost Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing your organization’s cost per person per hour, including wages, benefits, and overhead
- Use Bill Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing what you charge the client per hour for a member’s time
In Mosaic:
- This data does not come from Ajera - To set work category rates, go to: Settings > Budget > Rates. Select the Work Category tab to set Cost and Bill Rates for each Work Category. These can be organized within Rate Groups and applied to projects as needed
- Choose a Work Category Rate Group at project/phase level; rates come from that group’s cost/bill rate settings
15. Bill rate source for Projects with no Billing Type
Definition
- The "Bill rate source for projects with no billing type" setting determines which rates are used when calculating bill rates on a project whose billing type is blank in Mosaic.
Settings choices:
- Use Cost Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing your organization’s cost per person per hour, including wages, benefits, and overhead
- Use Bill Rate: selecting this implies that when you choose to use rates for project/phase planning, you’re showing what you charge the client per hour for a member’s time
In Mosaic:
- This section does not come from Ajera , it’s used to indicate which rates are used for these projects that fit this criteria of no billing types
16. Project Managers
Definition
- This means we will sync over project managers from Ajera into Mosaic where they will be assigned within the project
Settings choices:
Project Managers
- Transfer: this allows for project managers to be auto-assigned on a project, and if you have pre-existing project managers on the project, this will not affect existing project managers in Mosaic
- Do not Transfer: selecting this will not bring over any project manager assignment from Ajera to Mosaic
In Mosaic:
- Project managers assigned to a project will show in the list of members associated with that project. You can find this list by going to a project and clicking on the person icon on the top right
17. Project and Phase Fee Source
Definition
- Fees are the amounts you charge for services on a Project, Phase, or Work Category when billing time
- consultant fees are the portions of a project budget allocated specifically for external consultant services—separate from the direct labor fees your internal team bills against
Settings choices:
- Labor contract amount: choose this if you only want your fees to reflect true internal billable work
- Labor contract amount + Consultant contract amount: choose this if you want your fees to reflect the full contract value including external costs
In Mosaic:
- Note on adding consultant values: in Mosaic there isn't an indicator that shows if a consultant value is added to the fee. So for example, if there is 1 project that doesn't have consultant values but 1 does, the main assumption is that the fees are showing the full contract value even if external costs aren’t reflected in them
18/19. Hold Status & Work Hold Status Projects
Definition
Project and phase statuses in Mosaic indicate the stage at which a project is in delivery. These can be automatically mapped to what is often “status” in Ajera. These statuses will automatically update based on any changes in Ajera.
Settings choices:
Hold Status: If a project or a phase is in a hold status in Ajera, how should it be represented in Mosaic?
- Proposal
- Hold
- Active
- Complete
Workhold status: If a project or a phase is in a work hold status in Ajera, how should it be represented in Mosaic?
- Proposal
- Hold
- Active
- Complete
In Mosaic:
- You can see the status of a project/phase by clicking on the info:
- Note: these statuses transfer over continually, so when it changes in Ajera, it changes in Mosaic
20. Closed Projects Status
Definition
- This setting defines what Mosaic Project status should be applied when a Project is linked to a Closed Project in Ajera. It controls how Mosaic reflects Ajera’s “closed” state on the Mosaic side when statuses are transferred.
In Mosaic:
- Note about closed project status: this setting updates and applies changes when project statuses are transferred. If you change the selection here, linked projects may be updated on the next status transfer to match the new rule.
- Best practice: choose a closed-project status that aligns with how your team reports on historical work (for example, “Complete” if you want it counted as finished work)
21. Phases Linking Method
Definitions:
- A phase is a distinct period or stage in a project’s lifecycle, used to organize and manage progress from initiation to completion.
- Importing: When you import a phase (whether manually or automatically) we are bringing a phase from Ajera into Mosaic
- Linking: Linking a phase means connecting it to a phase within a project in Mosaic, so the phase is first imported, then linked so data can continue flow from Ajera into Mosaic
Settings choices:
- Manually linked: Select this if you only want to plan and manage specific phases in Mosaic. If you select this, you’ll need to individually select any project you want to to import and link into Mosaic.
- Automatically linked: Select this if you want all of your phases that exist in Ajera to be brought over to Mosaic for planning. This essentially auto-imports and links any phases in Ajera into Mosaic so we can sync that data into Mosaic.
22. Non-Billable Fee as Budget
Definition:
- “Send non-billable phase fee as budget”: if enabled, this setting uses your ERP’s “Fee” value to automatically populate the Budget for non-billable phases in Mosaic.
Settings:
- Transfer: Select this to transfer fees into Mosaic
- Do not transfer: Select if you want to set up/manage your fees in Mosaic directly
23. Phase order
Definition
- This setting defines how you want your phases in Mosaic to be ordered, whether we are syncing the order from what’s represented in Ajera and how you want it displayed in Mosaic
Settings choices:
- Phase Order: choosing this option mirrors the order of your phases from Ajera
- Phase Ref# (Task Order): choosing this option sorts phases by reference number
- Phase Name: Alphabetical order
- Set on Mosaic: choosing this implies that you will manually sort phases in Mosaic and we will not sync over any order
In Mosaic:
- Note about phase ordering: in order to keep phase ordering consistent, it’s best to adhere with a single source of truth for ordering phases - so if you have phases ordered a specific way in Ajera and a team member rearranges them in Mosaic and the selection above is NOT ‘Do not sync order’ we will overwrite the manually arranged phase order in the next sync to match Ajera
- It’s also best practice to adhere to creating phases in 1 single source to avoid phase ordering issues - so either create phases from Ajera, or create them on Mosaic
24/25. Hold & Work Hold Status - Phases
Definition:
Project and phase statuses in Mosaic indicate the stage at which a project or phase is in delivery. These can be automatically mapped to what is often “status” in Ajera. These statuses will automatically update based on any changes in Ajera.
Settings choices:
Hold Status: If a project or a phase is in a hold status in Ajera, how should it be represented in Mosaic?
- Not started
- Hold
- Active
- Complete
Workhold status: If a project or a phase is in a work hold status in Ajera, how should it be represented in Mosaic?
- Not started
- Hold
- Active
- Complete
26. Closed Phases status
Definition
- This setting defines what Mosaic Phase status should be applied when a Phase is linked to a Closed Phase in Ajera. It controls how Mosaic reflects Ajera’s “closed” state on the Mosaic side when statuses are transferred.
In Mosaic:
- Note about closed phase status: this setting updates and applies changes when Phase statuses are transferred. If you change the selection here, linked Phases may be updated on the next status transfer to match the new rule.
- Best practice: choose a closed-phase status that aligns with how your team reports on historical work (for example, “Complete” if you want it counted as finished work.
27. Work Categories
Definition
- This setting defines how you want your work categories in Mosaic to be linked to the work categories in Ajera. It controls whether the linking is maintained automatically or managed manually, and how Mosaic determines which Ajera work category corresponds to each Mosaic work category.
Settings choices:
- Automatically linked: choosing this option means Mosaic will automatically link work categories between Ajera and Mosaic using the system’s matching logic. Any new or updated work categories in Ajera will follow this automatic linking behavior.
- Manually linked: choosing this option means you will manually select and maintain the Ajera ↔ Mosaic work category links. Mosaic will not automatically create or adjust these links for you.
In Mosaic:
- Note about work category linking: to keep work category linking consistent, it’s best to stick to a single source of truth. If you switch between Automatically linked and Manually linked, or manually change links while expecting automatic behavior, you may see unexpected changes over time as categories are added or updated.
- Best practice: choose Automatically linked if you want Mosaic to keep work category links aligned with Ajera with minimal ongoing maintenance. Choose Manually linked if you need tighter control over exactly which work categories map to each other (for example, if naming conventions are inconsistent or multiple Ajera categories should be handled differently in Mosaic).
28. Time Entries
Definition
- Time entries are records of a member’s actual hours spent on projects, usually entered on timesheets. (Only available if you have ODBC credentials populated)
Settings choices:
- Transfer: If selected, we will continually sync time entries from Ajera into Mosaic
- Do not send time entries: If selected, we will not sync any time entries from Ajera and you will either have to import them via CSV, or start enter them in via Mosaic manually as you plan
In Mosaic:
- Time entry data is used to:
- Track actual hours members spend on projects, typically via timesheets, visible on Home and in reporting for Admins/Budget Managers
- Power budget analysis: all time entries (submitted, approved, rejected, or not submitted) roll into the project’s Spent tab and budget calculations
- Enable management actions: approve/reject, billable overrides, rate resets, and bulk edits for accurate billing and reporting
- Support time compliance monitoring via the Timesheet Status Report and reminders
- To log time in Mosaic (without Ajera): open the Timesheet page or Home - Time, select Project, Phase, Work Category, add hours (and description if required), then save.
- *If you are using Ajera Cloud, you will need to also connect ODBC for us to sync time entries
29. Time Entry Billable Status
Definition
- The time entry billable status indicates whether recorded hours are chargeable to a client
Settings choices:
- Transfer: We will continually sync the time entry billable status from Ajera
- if you need to make a change on a time entry’s billable status and have this selected, make the change in Ajera and it should reflect in Mosaic
- Do not transfer: do not send any billable statuses from Ajera to Mosaic for your time entries
- If you need to make a change on a time entry’s billable status and you have this selected, make the change in Mosaic instead as we are not syncing billable statuses from Ajera
In Mosaic:
- In Mosaic, time entries have a Billable field; you can view/filter it and override it on the Spent tab in your project
30. Hourly Rates
Definition
- This setting defines how time entry hourly rates are handled in Mosaic for time entries that are linked to Ajera. It controls whether Mosaic should keep rates aligned with Ajera over time, set them once, or not bring them over at all.
Settings choices:
- Transfer: choosing this option means Mosaic will transfer hourly rates from Ajera as part of ongoing syncing. If the hourly rate changes in Ajera (for example, due to rate table updates, role changes, or effective-date changes), Mosaic will update to reflect the latest transferred rate during subsequent transfers.
- One time at first link: choosing this option means Mosaic will transfer the hourly rate only when the time entry is first linked. After that initial link, Mosaic will keep the rate that was set at link time, even if the hourly rate later changes in Ajera.
- Do not transfer: choosing this option means Mosaic will not transfer hourly rates from Ajera. Hourly rates in Mosaic will need to come from Mosaic-only configuration and workflows, and Ajera changes will not update rates in Mosaic.
In Mosaic:
- Note about “Transfer” vs “One time at first link”: if your team edits rates in Ajera after time is already being entered, Transfer helps keep Mosaic aligned to Ajera, but it can cause rates on linked items to change over time. One time at first link is more stable for historical consistency, because it preserves the original rate captured when the link was created.
- Best practice for workflows:
- Choose Transfer if Ajera is your system of record for billing or costing rates and you want Mosaic reporting, approvals, and exports to stay consistent with Ajera as rates change.
- Choose One time at first link if you want rate stability after work starts, or if you want to avoid re-rating previously linked time due to later Ajera updates.
- Choose Do not transfer if your process requires managing hourly rates exclusively in Mosaic, or if Ajera rates are not reliable for the way you tracks cost and bill rates for time entry.
31. Time Entry Approval
Definition
This setting determines which type of Ajera approval will mark a time entry as "Approved" in Mosaic, rather than just "Submitted".
Settings choices:
- "Approved by Supervisor or Accounting" (Default)
- Time entry is marked "Approved" in Mosaic if EITHER supervisor OR accounting approves it in Ajera
- "Approved by Supervisor"
- Time entry is marked "Approved" in Mosaic ONLY if supervisor approves it in Ajera
- Accounting approval alone = "Submitted" status
- "Approved by Accounting"
- Time entry is marked "Approved" in Mosaic ONLY if accounting approves it in Ajera
- Supervisor approval alone = "Submitted" status
In Mosaic:
This setting allows organizations to match their Ajera approval workflow to their Mosaic status expectations:
- Flexible organizations: Use "Supervisor or Accounting" (either approval works)
- Supervisor-controlled workflow: Use "Supervisor only"
- Accounting-controlled workflow: Use "Accounting only"
Example:
Scenario 1: Setting = "Approved by Supervisor or Accounting"
- Time entry approved by supervisor only → "Approved"
- Time entry approved by accounting only → "Approved"
- Time entry submitted but no approvals → "Submitted"
32. Hours Source
Definition
- This setting is asking: ‘what kind of hours do you want to reflect on your time entries?’
Settings choices:
- Hours: select this if you want to keep track of all hours spent on work, regardless of whether you can bill for it
- Billed hours: select this if you only want to bring in billed hours on your time sheets
In Mosaic:
The choice between mapping hours versus only billed hours addresses different objectives that will affect how you plan and budget in Mosaic:
If choosing hours:
- Understanding total effort vs. billable effort helps identify inefficiencies or scope creep. If a project took 100 hours but you could only bill 80, this knowledge can help to identify places of improvement
- this also gives you true visibility into resource allocation and availability
- Labor cost accuracy: Your internal costs are based on actual hours worked, not just billed hours. For profitability calculations, you need to know true labor costs
If choosing billed hours:
- The assumption is that you only want to see hours that translate into billable revenue. This keeps your budgets and spent tracking aligned with what you can actually invoice clients.
- Dependent upon your workflow, it could be easier to view if your Mosaic data matches exactly what appears on client invoices to reconcile and manage client expectations.
33. Rate Source
Definition
- This setting is asking for the rate source for your time entries
- Billed rates represent what you actually charge clients on invoices. Using these rates ensures your project spent amounts in Mosaic reflect actual revenue generated
- Spent rates typically represent the actual cost of labor (employee's hourly cost to the company), which is essential for calculating true project profitability
Settings choices:
- Billed rate: choose this option if you want to use billed rates for time entries
- Spent rate: choose this option if you want to use spent rates for time entries
In Mosaic:
The choice between mapping billed rates vs spent rates addresses different objectives that will affect how you plan and budget in Mosaic:
- Keep in mind that this setting affects values brought in via timesheets from Ajera; if you create timesheets in Mosaic, it will use the rates you’ve set in Mosaic
- This affects spent amounts in Mosaic
If choosing billed rate:
- this may be a good option for invoice reconciliation: When time entry rates match what appears on client invoices, it's much easier to reconcile your Mosaic data with your accounting system and client billing
Choosing spent rate:
- Helps with budgeting future projects based on actual internal costs rather than client billing rates
34. Work Plans
Definition
- Work Plans are time-based allocations that assign people to a project or phase over a set period. They help manage the Project Time Budget, balance member capacity, and mirror allocations in the Project Budget so teams know how much time to spend on each project
Settings choices:
- Transfer: select for when any time work plans are added in Ajera, they will be sent to Mosaic
- One time at first link: this is to be selected if you only plan on transferring work plans once to Mosaic
- Do not send Work Plans: no work plans will be sent
In Mosaic:
- Where you can find work plans in Mosaic:
- Home: Work Plan widget (Work Plan page)
- Planner (Planner space)
- Workload (Workload space)
35. Rate groups
Definition
- This setting defines whether Mosaic should bring over rate groups (rate tables) from Ajera. It controls if Ajera rate groups are available in Mosaic for rate mapping and rate-related workflows, or if rate groups will be managed without importing them from Ajera.
Settings choices:
- Transfer: choosing this option means Mosaic will transfer rate groups (rate tables) from Ajera. When rate groups are created or updated in Ajera, Mosaic will bring those changes over during sync so they can be referenced in Mosaic configuration and mappings.
- Do not transfer: choosing this option means Mosaic will not bring over rate groups from Ajera. Rate group selection or mapping in Mosaic will need to rely on Mosaic-side configuration, and changes to Ajera rate tables will not appear in Mosaic.
In Mosaic:
- Note about rate groups as a source of truth: to keep rate mapping consistent, it’s best to treat either Ajera or Mosaic as the primary place where rate groups are defined and maintained. If Ajera is the system of record for rate tables, Transfer helps avoid drift between systems.
- Best practice for workflows:
- Choose Transfer if you maintain rate tables in Ajera and want Mosaic to mirror the available rate groups for consistent assignment, mapping, and troubleshooting when rates do not match expectations.
- Choose Do not transfer if you do not use Ajera rate tables in a consistent way, or if Mosaic should not rely on Ajera’s rate group structure for your day-to-day workflow.
